Japanese sword fighting at the Keizankai Dojo Cologne

In the tradition of a direct line to ancient Samurai, we teach this Martial Art with due consideration to the values of Zen and Bushido.

The sword mirrors the soul of the Samurai. Fears, inner tenseness, aggression, arrogance or vanity are made visible through practice.

To be in present, inwardly calm and balanced, at the same time ready to act with maximum speed and power is Zen.

The major goal is the development ability and personality.

Only a careful and responsible conduct with respect and humility permits the advanced practioner to handle a sharp sword and only through the unity of body, mind and sword mastery can be achieved.

Furthermore the Keizankai Dojo takes into consideration the Samurai Code of Conduct (Bushido). To be honest to yourself, to listen carefully and politely, to act well and just, to decide gentle and righteous are fundamental elements of Bushido. Which also characterize a noble human spirit.

The students learn in small groups or in private lessons.
